Interesting work
I decided to do my CIPD qualification because although I had a 2:1 in a business qualification I was still struggling to get my first foot on the HR ladder. So many jobs were asking for CIPD qualification and whilst my university lecturers used to tell us that we were the top 1% of society, when we left university it was really hard to get any work that was interesting or stimulating. So although I'd only just come out full time education I decided that I had to go that extra mile to achieve my dream of working in HR.
Thankfully studying the CIPD gave me the opportunity to use my brain as well as gaining comprehensive understanding of people practises. We studied current issues in the world of HR which helped me have confidence to talk about these topics in interviews.
And when I was in a specific HR role (which was only 6 months after I had started to study the CIPD qualification) I felt like I was in a role where I used my brain, I was trusted, I worked autonomously. I felt respected and that I made a difference. Things I had only dreamed about before my qualification.
Yes, there were times I had to remind myself that it would all be worthwhile in the end – and it was, it has opened so many doors for me.
